Saint Nicholas' Church, a jewel of our heritage
Saint Nicholas' church is a rare testimony, in the same way as the Basilica Cathedral of Saint Denis in Paris, of this medieval time when Romanesque art slowly disappear, giving way to Gothic art. With its meticulous architecture, the structure overlooks the banks of the Loire and offers one of the most beautiful and powerful pictures of the Blois scenery.
Surrounded by the historical and picturesque Foix neighbourhood, Saint Nicholas' church is situated right at the foot of the Royal Château. The immediate surroundings of the ancient church echo the medieval past of the town with its narrow streets and ancient houses.
The Saint Nicholas' church is listed historical monument since 1840.
