Christmas at the royal château of Blois

A big, bright Christmas at the Château !

To mark the festive season, the City of Blois is welcoming the Australian art studio Eness to the Château royal de Blois for the first time.

From 6 December 2024 to 5 January 2025, the rooms of the monument will host their art installation Modern Guru and the Path to Artificial Happiness, offering visitors the chance to plunge into an enchanted universe, where they will meet fairy-like creatures and luminous characters.

For the occasion, the courtyard, the terrace of the Foix, the staircase of the Gaston d'Orléans wing and the General Estates Room will be the setting for this grandiose, magical and colourful installation. It's a unique way of redesigning the spaces and highlighting the architecture of the chateau.

Children and gown-ups will be able to (re)discover the Chateau through an immersive and entertaining experience. As part of dynamic, digital and interactive art, the work interacts live with the public and evolves in real time, according to the actions of the spectator.

Visitors can let their aimaginations run wild as they explore the inflatable and illuminated contemporary installations, leaving their eyes filled with stars, joy and wonder!

Share a moment with your whole family on our « Château life, it's all yours ! » tour. Specially designed to appeal children and their parents, this family tour reveals everything there is to know about the lives of kings and queens. What was life like at the king's court? What did they eat? What did they smell like? Our guide will reveal all the secrets of royal life!

From 21 December to 4 January, daily at 2.30pm.

Explore the nooks and crannies of the monument with this behind-the-doors tour of the Chateau. The towers, fortifications, attics and other places that are usually inaccessible to the public will be open exclusively to you!

From 1 to 29 December, every Sunday at 10.30 am.

Let the murmurs of the night be your guide...

As the Château closes its doors, follow our costumed guide on an immersive experience by torchlight. A mysteriously offbeat tour of the royal flats and unusual parts of the monument. Music and poems will accompany this stroll in the half-light: welcome to the secret bowels of the Royal Château of Blois!

23, 27, 30 December and 3 January at 6.30pm.
