This summer at the royal Castle

From 07/12/2026 to 08/21/2026

This year, the Royal Castle of Blois invites you to experience a summer that’s royally offbeat! Through an immersive, original, and surprising program, discover this historic monument of the Loire Valley in a whole new light.

Fare : Included in the entrance fee.

Playful improvisations, reimagined folk farces, immersive musical siestas, and action theater: the château has enlisted companies from the Loire Valley to transform your visit into a destination of games, experiences, and irreverence, blending heritage, creativity, and letting go in a joyfully cheeky spirit.

Folk Farces at the Château

July 16, 17, 23, 24, 30, 31 and August 6, 7, 13, 14

Looking for an original and instructive summer activity? The Château de Blois has just what you need!

Inspired by texts from the 11th and 16th centuries, “Phlipot the Fool” and other reimagined folk farces invite you on a journey through time! With modernized dialogue and contemporary references, these performances are part of the lively and convivial tradition of folk theater from the late Middle Ages and early Renaissance.

On stage, three actors perform a series of skits full of twists and turns, where characters as naive as they are stubborn find themselves in utterly absurd situations… much to the audience’s delight.

By the Les Péchus Theater Company, included in the admission price. - ONLY IN FRENCH

Wandering Through Every Corner of the Castle
July 12–14 and August 20–21

Inspired by the historical figure of the court jester, this performance reimagines the character with humor, energy, and a touch of irony. During a quick coronation, a flash story, a musical interlude, or some improbable acrobatics, a versatile performer pops up where you least expect it and transforms every corner of the monument into a mini-stage, taking on the roles of three mischievous jesters: Zébulus, Aldebaran, and Triboulet

To the beat of the music, heritage and gentle madness come together for an unexpected experience, to be enjoyed with friends or family!

By the Compagnie Philémon, included in the admission price. - ONLY IN FRENCH

A chivalric action show

July 20, 21, 27, 28 and August 3, 4, 10, 11, 17, and 18

This summer, “Le Chevalier Brayard” takes over the Château, combining humor, theater, and chivalric adventures for young and old alike! At the heart of this lively farce, Mélissandre, an energetic stewardess, and Jean, a squire as devoted as he is clumsy, set out to teach the codes of chivalry… by involving the audience! With fast-paced battles, offbeat humor, and colorful characters, this interactive show shatters clichés about the Middle Ages and the Renaissance and leaves you with an unforgettable memory!

By the Taprobane Company, included in the admission price. - ONLY IN FRENCH

A Musical Siesta in the Royal Gardens
July 19 and 26

Fancy a poetic break between visits to the Loire Valley châteaux? The Sonomonia sensory siesta takes you on a unique musical journey, blending electronic music, vocals, and world instruments. A true invitation to dream and unwind, the sounds flow all around the audience for a moment of relaxation in a royal setting!

Presented by the Melodiam Vitae Company, included in the admission price.
