The Loire by bike

The Loire by bike is a French cycling road included in the EuroVelo6 itinerary spanning from St-Nazaire, France to Constanta, Romania. The "Loire by bike" segment extends from Cuffy (Cher) to Saint-Brevin-les-Pins (Loire-Atlantique). The 800 km (500-mile) trajectory takes the cyclist through the different landscapes of the Loire valley, a geographic zone registered in the world heritage of the United Nations due to the authenticity and beauty of its landscapes, castles and vineyards.

The Loire by bike alternates between roads with little traffic (27%), green cycling trails (27%), non-transit roads (24%) and bike paths and bike lanes (12%). The itinerary is essentially parallel to the Loire and includes 300 stop and parking areas designed to welcome cyclo-tourists.

Every year, more than 800,000 bicycle riders avail themselves of "the Loire by bike" and enjoy the magnificent scenery characterizing the Loire region.
